Environmental Journalism Seminar for Journalists

In response to the recent threat to Samar island's forest reserves and to the inadequate knowledge of its people on its impact, the foundation has partnered itself with the Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) in conducting an Environmental Journalism Seminar entitled "Journalists: Protectors and Stewards of the Environment" on September 1-3, 2007 to be held at the Sacred Heart Institute, Sophie's Farm, Mondragon, Northern Samar.

Facilitated by SHIFT's Program Team, Mr. Jesus Abrera, Journalist-Editorial Cartoonist for the Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) and the the Environmental Institute, Institutional Network for Social Action (INSA) of Miriam College, Quezon City will be among the resouce persons to conduct sessions in the seminar.

SHIFT's Program Director accepts Nortehanon Access Center (NAC) invitation to be one of its Board Members

The Nortehanon Access Center (NAC), a Partnership and Access Center of Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) in Northern Samar has invited our Program Director, Sr. Lydia M. Collado, RSCJ to be one of its Board Members. PEF works with local civil society networks, such as NAC, in developing programs and funding projects in the poorest communities, thereby strengthening institutional capacities of organizations in grassroots communities. NAC is mandated to develop and support innovative strategies for sustained poverty reduction and community empowerment. <Visit PEF's website>

  AngKaS: Ang Katekistang Samarnon, a formation module for Catechists was produced in partnernership with the Diocese of Catarman, Northern Samar and SHIFT Foundation for the Year of Social Concerns 2006-2007.  
  In collaboration with SHIFT Foundation & the RSCJ, the Episcopal Commission on Catechesis & Catholic Education (ECCCE) & Ministry of Catechesis and Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Manila produced the HEARTsteps module for the Year of the Sacred Heart 2004-2005.
